This 1997 Hasbro Toy Fair Catalog page promoted #27609: Electronic Talking C-3PO Carry Case. This toy featured authentic movie phrases, so fans could hear phrases like “Oh my!” “I am C-3PO, human-cyborg relations.” and “R2-D2, where are you?” Furthermore, the vac-metalized case had light-up eyes. This case was shelf demonstratable with batteries included.
Next, they presented #27846: Star Wars RC Speeder Bike. This was a radio-controlled motorcycle with an imperial bike scout driver. This toy was authentically styled from the movie and had highly realistic, weathered styling. Then, its full-function controller included forward and reverse. It even could turn in reverse. Furthermore, this toy required 4 “AA” batteries, which were not included.
They then advertised #27597: Star Wars Action Playset Assortment. This assortment featured two playsets: Death Star Escape and Detention Block Rescue.
The Death Star Escape featured a firing cannon and a sliding blast shield door. Meanwhile, the figures could “duel” on the removable bridge. It also had a string with a belt that allowed figures to swing to safety across the bottomless pit graphic.
