Following the lukewarm reception of G2 Transformers toys, the line died down for a short bit before Hasbro decided to introduce a new spin on the franchise. Now, the Transformers took on beast forms as they took their war to a new battleground in space and time. This new line also had a beloved 3-D animated cartoon series.

This page also featured #80355: Transformers Ultra Beasts Assortment. These were the ultimate Transformers leaders in their fiercest forms. The Optimus Primal gorilla featured secret shoulder-mounted launchers and a power slam arm. Meanwhile, the T-Rex Megatron featured two hidden missile launchers and sprayed “poisonous paralyzer” fluid.

Each catalog was filled with information about their newest toys, even ones still in development. Thus, they often provided the first looks at action figures, playsets, vehicles, and more from their lines. Therefore, they have become valuable and rare collector’s items.

They also partnered with Takara to bring the Transformers to the Western market.
