The 1983 LJN Toy Fair Catalog celebrated the release of E.T., the Extra-Terrestrial action figures, playsets, and figurines. As they stated on a prior page, LJN produced more E.T. toys than any other company worldwide. So, they set out to continue aggressively promoting the toys for this lovable extra-terrestrial in the following year.

LJN promoted several new assortments, such as #1290, the E.T. Action Figure Assortment. This grouping featured the most lovable alien of all as he dressed up in three favorite outfits from the movie: the bathrobe, dress-up costume, and sports coat. Each of these toys also featured movable arms and an extending neck.
Then, there was #1205, the E.T. action figure, which featured poseable arms and an extending neck. This toy came with a “Speak ‘n Spell”.
Retailers could also order #1270, the Walking E.T. “Dressed” Figure Assortment. This assortment featured three adorable walkers that came to life and waddled forward when wound up. Each of these figures wore a memorable outfit from the movie and featured moveable arms. Moreover, the head bobbed up and down as E.T. walked.
Finally, they presented #1210, the E.T. Walking Figure, whose heart glowed with love as he waddled around. Like the prior assortment, his head bobbed up and down as he waddled forward.
