LJN continued to share the excitement of their new toy line that brought WWF action home, the Wrestling Superstars, on page 50 of the 1985 Toy Fair Catalog. After Richard Derwald of Buffalo, NY came up with the idea, he sold LJN on the concept of wrestling toys. Along with the action figures, LJN also produced bendies and thumb wrestling. This line went strong until LJN closed its toy division in 1989.

Here, they promoted #5436, the Hulkamania Dexlue Barbell Workout Set. This was a 17-pound weight set that LJN was sure would become a big hit with boys interested in getting into shape. It featured a chromed barbell with “pitted” hand grips. The barbell also featured weight locks, four weight discs (two 5 lb and 2 2 ½ lb), an exercise chart, and a “Hulkster” headband. More importantly, the set came with an audio cassette that featured Hulk’s own instructions.
