This 1984 Coleco Toy Fair Catalog promoted one of their licensed ride-on vehicles: 1840, The Dukes of Hazzard General Lee Power Cycle. Plenty of action-packed days were ahead for young drivers of their own GENERAL LEE POWER CYCLE with its spinout lever. Rugged polyethylene construction took lots of rough driving. Furthermore, the 16″ direct drive front wheel was set in a large shock absorber fork for more comfort and safety. It also featured no-tip wide track rear wheels, adjustable 3-position seat back with decorated steel roll bar and vinyl banner, sure-grip handlebars with streamers, nonslip pedals, and a motor racing sound when pedaled. Moreover, it included an official DUKES OF HAZZARD picture.

To promote their upcoming slate of products, Coleco handed out catalogs to toy fair and other event attendees like dealers and retailers. Each catalog was filled with information about their newest toys, even ones still in development. Thus, they were often provided the first looks at action figures, playsets, vehicles, and more from their lines. Thus, they have become valuable and rare collector’s items.
These Coleco Toy Fair Catalogs featured toys from their beloved lines. For instance, the Sectaurs, who combined insects with superheroes, appeared in multiple catalogs. Likewise, Coleco produced and promoted the Rambo toy line, which focused on the cartoon series. There were also many vehicles and toys from the Starcom toy line.
Coleco used in-production prototypes in their images as these catalogs were prepared before the lines were released. This meant that the featured toys often differed from the retail releases.
