As Coleco’s line-up of toys changed for seasons like summer, Coleco often released new catalogs for toy fair attendees to browse. Thus, some dealers and vendors got their hands on the summer-themed catalog from Coleco in 1986. As this catalog focused on the products that would be hot during the summer, it featured pools, outdoor furniture, and ride-on toys.
Coleco’s line-up of Ride-Ons kept them going through the years. Children loved to ride on these big wheel cycles and other vehicles. Coleco became so well-known for their ride-on toys that other companies, like Hasbro, had them create licensed ride-ons for their toys. Thus, Coleco created G.I. Joe and Transformers-themed ride-ons. They also created vehicles that featured popular characters from television and movies.
Wheeljack’s Lab proudly presents high-definition scans of the 1986 Coleco Summer Toy Fair Catalog featuring licensed ride-on toys.

About Our Coleco Toy Fair Catalog Scans
To promote their upcoming slate of products, Coleco handed out catalogs to toy fair and other event attendees like dealers and retailers. Each catalog was filled with information about their newest toys, even ones still in development. Thus, they were often provided the first looks at action figures, playsets, vehicles, and more from their lines. Thus, they have become valuable and rare collector’s items.
These Coleco Toy Fair Catalogs featured toys from their beloved lines. For instance, the Sectaurs, who combined insects with superheroes, appeared in multiple catalogs. Likewise, Coleco produced and promoted the Rambo toy line, which focused on the cartoon series. There were also many vehicles and toys from the Starcom toy line.
Coleco used in-production prototypes in their images as these catalogs were prepared before the lines were released. This meant that the featured toys often differed from the retail releases. Moreover, toys sometimes appeared only in these catalog pages, as they were canceled or never hit retail store shelves.
While Coleco only handed these booklets out to trade professionals, we have now made them available to all. You can explore the toys featured in these catalogs with our Coleco Toy Fair Catalog Scans. This is a rare treat since catalogs like these have become increasingly difficult to locate with each passing year.
