In 1978, Mego teamed up with KISS to create their first series of action figures, dolls, and toys. During that time, KISS had made a huge impact on the rock scene with their extravagant and flashy costumes. Thus, the jump into toy form worked well with their look.
Mego produced four 12-inch dolls, one for each of the band members. So, fans could have a detailed doll of their favorite band member, whether it be Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, or Peter Criss. However, they originally released a wave of these dolls with a “skinny body”.
