In 2014, Paramount and Hasbro released Transformers: Age of Extinction. Like any Transformers media, the movie AOE had its own supplemental toy line and eventual Studio Series releases. The Age of Extinction toys were split into two categories upon release: Robots in Disguise, and a Generations subline dedicated to the film. The lines were catered towards younger and older fans, respectively, with the former featuring 1-step changers, simple transformations, and simple gimmicks, while the latter included less intrusive gimmicks and more complex transformations. The line(s) features film characters such as Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Hound, Grimlock, Galvatron, and more.
