Not to be confused with the fuel source, Hasbro and Takara put a bow on the Unicron Trilogy in 2003 with the Energon toys. The majority of toys in this line featured combining mechanics. However, the titular energon weapon gimmick had a subdued presence among the toys. The toy line also split up its combining mechanics between factions and price points.
