After the booming success of the Beast Wars series, Hasbro mixed things up in 1999 with the sequel, Beast Machines. This series has become even more divisive than the predecessor, Beast Wars. While Beast Wars was divisive due to its subversion of expectations by utilizing animal alternate modes instead of vehicles, the sequel was met with negative reception due to the uncanny art style. Fan-favorite characters such as Cheetor and Blackarachnia made a return in this series.
