In 2002, Hasbro and Takara captured a global audience with the new Cybertron Trilogy, starting with the Armada series. This was the first series where both Hasbro and Takara worked in tandem to produce it. However, the cartoon series for the toy line was distinctly Japanese produced. With the anime feel of the cartoon, Armada made a lasting impression on the Transformers franchise.
