Galoob continued to advertise the WCW (World Championship Wrestling) action figures on page 34 of the 1992 Toy Fair Catalog. Ted Turner founded this competitor to the WWF in 1988 after he acquired the NWA. Thus, networks owned by Turner Broadcasting System broadcasted the matches. This group featured a completely different set of wrestlers than those from the WWF, though a few appeared in both.

This 1992 GaloobToy Fair Catalog page advertised the WCW World Championship Wrestling Action Figure Tag Teams. Each team was composed of two tough WCW superstars who made unbeatable combinations. These collectible action figures were 5” to 6” tall. Each solid vinyl action figure was authentically detailed and included a championship belt.
There were a total of 4 different Tag Teams. New to the 1992 line-up were Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin, the Fabulous Firebirds. Another team was Ric Flair and Arn Anderson, who were two of the Four Horsemen. Next, there was Sting and Lex Luger, two of the “Dukes with Attitude”. The final team was Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner, The Steiners. The continuing Tag Teams were redecorated in new, bright colors.

To promote their upcoming slate of products, Galoob handed out catalogs to attendees of toy fairs and other events. Each catalog was filled with information about their newest toys, even ones still in development. Thus, they often provided the first looks at action figures, playsets, vehicles, and more from their lines. Thus, they have become valuable and rare collector’s items.
These Galoob Toy Fair Catalogs featured toys from their beloved lines. For instance, the company took players to fantasy worlds with lines like the Infaceables and Blackstar. Then, the Defenders of the Earth featured Flash Gordon and other heroes ready to save the day. Other players could create adventures in space with the Adventures of Galaxy Rangers and Star Trek: The Next Generation toy lines. Galoob’s toys also delivered a smack-down with their WCW World Championship Wrestling line-up. The company also created a line-up of mutant aliens, the Biker Mice from Mars.
Galoob used in-production prototypes in their images, as these catalogs were prepared before the lines were released. This meant that the featured toys often differed from the retail releases. Moreover, toys sometimes appeared only on these catalog pages, as they were canceled or never hit retail store shelves.
