Galoob continued to advertise the WCW (World Championship Wrestling) action figures on page 33 of the 1992 Toy Fair Catalog. Ted Turner founded this competitor to the WWF in 1988 after he acquired the NWA. Thus, networks owned by Turner Broadcasting System broadcasted the matches. This group featured a completely different set of wrestlers than those from the WWF, though a few appeared in both.

This 1992 Galoob Toy Fair Catalog page promoted the WCW World Championship Wrestling Action Figures, No. 2500. These were 5” to 7” tall collectible figures of the WCW superstars, redecorated in new, bright colors. All of these solid vinyl action figures were authentically detailed. They also included a removable championship belt.
This catalog featured 7 new figures for a total of 18 WCW superstars. These new figures included El Gigante, Dustin Rhodes, Michael Hayes, Jimmy Garvin, and Big Josh. Moreover, there were new figures of Sting and Lex Luger in all-new pre-ring outfits. The other figures included Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Barry Windham, Sid Vicious, Rick Steiner, Scott Steiner, Sting, Lex Luger, Flyin’ Brian Pillman, Ron Simmons, Z-Man, and Tom Zenk.

To promote their upcoming slate of products, Galoob handed out catalogs to attendees of toy fairs and other events. Each catalog was filled with information about their newest toys, even ones still in development. Thus, they often provided the first looks at action figures, playsets, vehicles, and more from their lines. Thus, they have become valuable and rare collector’s items.
These Galoob Toy Fair Catalogs featured toys from their beloved lines. For instance, the company took players to fantasy worlds with lines like the Infaceables and Blackstar. Then, the Defenders of the Earth featured Flash Gordon and other heroes ready to save the day. Other players could create adventures in space with the Adventures of Galaxy Rangers and Star Trek: The Next Generation toy lines. Galoob’s toys also delivered a smack-down with their WCW World Championship Wrestling line-up. The company also created a line-up of mutant aliens, the Biker Mice from Mars.
Galoob used in-production prototypes in their images, as these catalogs were prepared before the lines were released. This meant that the featured toys often differed from the retail releases. Moreover, toys sometimes appeared only on these catalog pages, as they were canceled or never hit retail store shelves.
