Hasbro began its coverage of the Ninja Warriors toys on page 112 of the 1987 Toy Fair Catalog. Unlike their G.I. Joe toys, the Ninja warriors celebrated the ancient Japanese warriors, Ninjas, and Samurai. So, these toys fought with sais, axes, and other traditional weapons. Many of these characters also had Japanese names to coincide with their appearance.
