Hasbro continued to focus on their phenomenally successful toy line, the Transformers, on page 70 of the 1986 Toy Fair Catalog. After their debut in 1984, the Transformers became one of the most successful toy lines of all time. With the assistance of Marvel, Hasbro successfully blended the ingenuity of Japanese engineering with the creativity of American comics and cartoons. This venture had become so successful that the Transformers made it to the silver screen in 1986.

Here, Hasbro presented #5745: The Transformers Deluxe Insecticon Assortment. These creepy creatures made sophisticated transformations into highly-styled Decepticons. The deluxe Insecticons came packaged with attachable weapons, character bios, Tech Specs charts, and decoders. They also featured the liquid crystal logo that assures authenticity. Each assortment included three of each Insecticon.
Then, Hasbro presented #5720: The Transformers Insecticon Assortment. These creepy insects were ready to transform into treacherous Decepticon robots and back. The Insecticons came packaged as insects with attachable weapons, character bios, Tech Specs charts, and decoders. They also featured the liquid crystal logo that provided proof of authenticity. Each assortment included eight of each Insecticon.
Finally, Hasbro presented #5784: The Transformers Decepticon Plane Assortment. In 1986, two new plane models joined the Decepticon forces to terrorize the skies. Each came with attachable weapons. label sheets, Tech Specs charts, and decoders. They also featured the unique Transformers liquid crystal logo. Each of these assortments included four each of Scourge and Cyclonus. They also included one each of continuing styles.
