While the 1983 cartoon series was ending its run in 1986, Inspector Gadget was still one of the decade’s greatest hits. It followed the exploits of the cyborg-enhanced Inspector Gadget as he fought crime and his nemesis, Dr. Claw. Even though he received credit, usually his niece, Penny, and dog, Brain, solved the crimes.

This 1986 Galoob Toy Fair Catalog page promoted the cartoon-inspired Inspector Gadget Action Figure, #7505. This fully articulated figure was over a foot high when the neck was extended. Beautifully constructed action figure features a number of wonderful movements simulating the cartoon hero.
With the push of a button, the spring-loaded legs extended. Meanwhile, the buttons on the arms extend the wrist or shoot the hand a distance of 18”.
Its gyrocopter accessory could be attached to the head and rotated, and the giant hammer could also be attached to the head. This figure featured a realistic trench coat and came in a full-color window box.

Thus, they often provided the first looks at action figures, playsets, vehicles, and more from their lines. Thus, they have become valuable and rare collector’s items.
These Galoob Toy Fair Catalogs featured toys from their beloved lines. For instance, the company took players to fantasy worlds with lines like the Infaceables and Blackstar. Then, the Defenders of the Earth featured Flash Gordon and other heroes ready to save the day. Other players could create adventures in space with the Adventures of Galaxy Rangers and Star Trek: The Next Generation toy lines. Galoob’s toys also delivered a smack-down with their WCW World Championship Wrestling line-up. The company also created a line-up of mutant aliens, the Biker Mice from Mars.
Galoob used in-production prototypes in their images, as these catalogs were prepared before the lines were released. This meant that the featured toys often differed from the retail releases. Moreover, toys sometimes appeared only on these catalog pages, as they were canceled or never hit retail store shelves.
