This 1984 IDEAL Spring Toy Fair Catalog page promoted the Manglors Action Alien Figure in “Prehi-Storage” Play Eggs. The sensational Manglors action figures were 7” sticky-icky creatures from another dimension. Now, they came packaged in their own unique play environment, a dinosaur-like egg. This dramatic new packaging innovation provided storage, portability, and a playset. Thus, it added to the play value of a proven hit concept in novelty figures.
Made of the strangest stuff on Earth, Manglors could withstand being rolled into a ball. Moreover, they could stick onto almost anything and be mangled to take different forms. IDEAL encouraged players to pull their arms and legs off and put them back on again. Now, there were three new Manglors monsters, creating a total of six. Each toy came packaged in its own egg, complete with a rocklike base and figure stand.
There were a few different options for Manglors. For instance, IDEAL offered No. 48034 – Assortment, No. 48051 – Manglord, No. 48042 – Manglosaurus, and No. 48053 – Manglodactyl. There was also No. 48207 – Manglodemon, No. 48208 – Manglodragon, and No. 48209 – Manglizard.
