A water-damaged box will sell for much less than one that looks like new. Is the item clean, or is it dusty or yellowed for example. A figure’s exact condition will be hard for you to gauge, but you can still get a rough idea of the value of your items.

Are Your Toys Clean?

Have your toys been on an open shelf? Maybe in an open box in a basement or attic? If for 20-30 even 40 years, they will likely be covered in dust. Were your toys exposed to cigarette smoke? If so they will be yellowed. Were your toys exposed to sunlight while in storage? Sunlight discolors plastic similar to cigarette smoke.
