Where to Sell my Toys for Cash

Thank you for stopping by, here we will help you figure out where to sell toys for cash. We will outline all of your alternatives. We’ve been buying and selling vintage toys for over 20 years. Great toy lines like Star Wars, Thundercats, Transformers, G.I. Joe, He-Man, M.A.S.K., and many other action figure brands. We will walk you thru determining what you have, how much it is worth, and where to sell toys for cash!

Who Was the Owner?

It’s an advantage to be the original owner of the collection. Especially on larger collections where it can be almost impossible if you were not the original owner to match up what is from which toy line, especially the small parts and pieces. If you are not the original owner you should stop reading and just email us and we can help you.

Identify What Toys You Have

Now since in many cases these are 30 years old, take your time and be cautious, not breaking anything fragile after so long. Again this task will be easier for the original owner. The task here is to first get everything into general groupings. Then narrow everything down into specific brands. Most toy lines have standard sizes, be it 4”, 5” or 12”.

Determine Your Toys are Worth

Again for the original owner, this will be easier, as he/she will know the names. You will first need to price them. To do that you need something that has sold to compare it to. Hop on eBay and check out their sold listings. Too many look to the asking price, ignore those, any seller can ask anything….that’s not any help.

Condition Condition Condition

Why does one item sell for $10 and another $100, yet they are the same item. There are 4 reasons, first is it new and sealed. Second, does it have the box even though it was opened? Third, does it have all the little pieces? Fourth is it broken? Those all play an important part in valuing the toy. Additionally then, what is the condition? A water-damaged box will sell for much less than one that looks like new. Is the item clean, or is it dusty or yellowed for example. A figure’s exact condition will be hard for you to gauge, but you can still get a rough idea of the value of your items.

Are Your Toys Clean?

Have your toys been on an open shelf? Maybe in an open box in a basement or attic? If for 20-30 even 40 years, they will likely be covered in dust. Were your toys exposed to cigarette smoke? If so they will be yellowed. Were your toys exposed to sunlight while in storage? Sunlight discolors plastic similar to cigarette smoke. If you’re a collector and would like to repair the damage brought about by yellowing check out our how-to guide. Were your toys exposed to high heat? High heat will change the properties of some plastics and vinyl’s making them sticky or brittle. Even low humidity can cause similar problems.

Pets and Stuff

Unfortunately, over time, our toys come under attack by rodents, insects, or animals. Collections that come under attack by those pests are toys most collectors don’t want.

Bio: I’m the founder and owner of Wheeljack’s Lab. My vision has always been to reunite customers with their favorite childhood toys, triggering fond memories, and reigniting their imaginations. Every day I work in the “lab” where it’s Christmas 365 days a year; scouring the internet – like we did the Sears Catalog of yesteryear – for the next great treasure, awaiting the arrival of the postman as if he was Santa Claus himself and helping collectors worldwide with their own versions of Christmas. Every day is an absolute joy!

    1. I am trying to identify a toy. She is wearing a green space suit, she comes with a green snap around queen dress, a staff and an extra head with a crown and stands 6-7 inches. If you don’t know do you know of any sites that help ID old toys? Thank you in advance for your time and consideration/ carla
