Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Lights is an action, adventure, sci-fi, superhero multimedia franchise that started in 1987. The franchise sports a short-lived animated television series, a toy line with a one-year lifespan, and a short-lived comic book series.

Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Lights sets its events in an alternate universe where electronics and technology no longer function. Thus, the people must depend solely on old magic.

This gave rise to two conflicting groups within the society, the Spectral Knights. The knights are powerful magicians that use their magic to do good in the world and uphold justice. Meanwhile, the Darkling Lords, the second group, is an infamous group that uses their magic to harm, oppress and cause chaos in society. so, this series exemplifies a morally based media portraying the efforts of the good Spectral Knights in defeating the evil Darkling Lords.

In 1987, after the cancellation of the animated television series, Hasbro began distributing the Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Lights toys. This toy line includes twelve action figures and four vehicles. The action figures had full articulation and were very poseable.
