In 1979, Mattel released the Flash Gordon action figures that tied into the “Flash Gordon” cartoon TV series. Three different series of toys were launched, along with several vehicles. Flash Gordon, Prince Thun, Lizard Men, and Ming the Merciless were the action figures in the first series. The Sparkling Rocket Fighter Ship was the most collected vehicle. Eight figures in all and 2 vehicles.
