Adapting Beast King GoLion for American audiences, Matchbox presented the Voltron toys to the American market in 1981. However, Matchbox was not the only toy company to create toys for the hit cartoon. Where Matchbox focused on the robot lions, companies like Panosh Place presented action figures of the main cast. Furthermore, LJN also released several toys that featured the combining lion force.
