Accompanying Universal’s big-budget film, Hasbro launched the Small Soldiers toy line in 1998. These toys split into two factions, the peaceful Gorgonites, who resembled monsters, and the aggressive Commando Elite, a group of military men. Unlike the film, these toys did not include a complex chip that gave them sentience.
