Galoob based the Blackstar action figures on the cartoon series that came out in 1981. Beginning in 1983, three series of toys were released under the “Blackstar” title. These figures were based on an astronaut who flew through a black hole and crashed on the planet Sagar. Each Blackstar figure was sold with a “Trobbit,” a demon. John Blackstar, Mara, and Trobbit Balkar are just a few of the popular figures from the first Blackstar series.
