Join us on a journey through the 1989 Hasbro Toy Fair Catalog, which continued to celebrate the success of G.I. Joe and Transformers. This catalog includes exciting previews of the 1989 line-up. On page 57 of the 1989 Hasbro Toy Fair Catalog, Hasbro presented its selection of Nintendo Trophy Figures that featured Nintendo’s popular characters. After hitting Western markets in 1985, the Nintendo Entertainment System became the catalyst for the video games industry. This console revived the industry after the crash of 1983 as it became a smash hit.

Continuing from the previous page, Hasbro presented #7772: Nintendo Punch Out!! Trophy Figure Assortment. This grouping displayed several scenes from the hit game, like Mac KOing Piston Honda. Other trophies included scenes like Mac catching the Tiger Magic Punch, Braid Bull and Mac mixing it up, and Mac brawling with Super Macho Man.

Then, Hasbro promoted #7770: Nintendo Super Mario Bros. Trophy Figure Assortment. This assortment featured several scenes that depicted Nintendo’s mascot character. For instance, they displayed scenes like a Blooper chasing Mario, Bowser guarding Princess Toadstool, and Mario running from Bullet Bill.
