Here, Kenner promoted No. 17160, the Skybolt Assault Weapon System, where the sky was the limit. They invited readers to meet the SKYBOLT, massive air reinforcement against insurmountable odds. So, it was capable of making ACE MCCLOUD virtually invincible and the Ultimate Fighting Machine in the air.
SKYBOLT’s battle modes included “Reconnaissance”, “Backfire”, and “Anti-Attack”. It came with 2 Booster/Stabilizer Pods, 2 RadarTracking Wings, 2 Modular Invertible Wings, and 2 Gallactic Missiles. It also featured 2 Backfire Missile Launchers for front and rear attack, 2 Heat-Seeking Missiles, a Back Assault Pak with Rotating Turbine and Anti-Radar Deflector, and an Infra-red Sensor.
