Here, Hasbro promoted assortment #5730: The Transformers Decepticon Mini-Cassette Assortment. Users pulled up their legs, swung out their arms, and flipped out their heads to convert these tiny cassettes into a robot, jaguar, or condor. Moreover, the special crystal logo changed color to prove that there were real Transformers.
This assortment included 12 each of the two different sets of mini-cassette packages, which had two mini-cassettes per card. While one set included Ravage and Rumble, the other featured Laserbeak and Frenzy. Each set included attachable weapons, two bio cards, and two Tech Specs charts. In total, there were 24 pieces per assortment.
Next, Hasbro highlighted assortment #5790: The Transformers Decepticon Communicator, Soundwave, who served as the Decepticons’ communications relay station. He disguised himself as a cassette player to spy on the Autobots. Meanwhile, his sidekick Buzzsaw popped out from the recorder as a mini-cassette before transforming into a golden condor.
Soundwave came packaged with attachable weapons, a bio card, a Tech Specs chart, and a decoder. He also featured the special liquid crystal logo that proved his authenticity. Each assortment included 6 pieces.
