About Where This Came From: First, this came from a 1970-1990’s Tonka designer executives home. He passed some time ago, this collection includes MANY product samples, packaging prototypes, etc. I will likely miss some and classify them as just basic stock. Some may have generic price tags as he was going to sell them shortly before his death. So this at worst is a standard product, could be something more. If questions ask, I got around 1,000 items in this collection. Comes as shown.
Figure Condition: Read carefully, what this exactly is isn’t entirely known. The story from the spouse of the Tonka executive this item belonged to (who did travel Southeast Asia as part of his job). Additionally, she worked in the model shop as well. The story is that this is a paintmaster. That said it is not a hardcopy. She said the hashes on the left eye and bottom torso indicated that. Her position would give her knowledge of this. Now given her position I took that as fact. Upon showing it to the former Director of R&D and Engineering at Tonka at the time he disagreed. First of all, it has the COO. He surmised that it could be a paintmaster from one of the plants and that the hashes would indicate that to them…..the person that would know has passed. You look at it and purchase accordingly, I priced it not as a paintmaster. Comes as shown.
