Founded in the 1940s, Remco was one of the smaller toy companies that gained some attention with their apparent knock-offs of Masters of the Universe. While the company experimented with various pop culture licenses, like Lost in Space, the Munsters, and Star Trek, in the 1960s, these toy lines are not the ones that people remember. Instead, the toy lines from the 1980s, like The Lost World of the Warlord, seemed to brazenly copy Mattel. The two companies even battled it out in court, where Remco came out as the victor. By 1994, Remco closed its doors forever, leaving only its legacy.
