Remco created the Crystar action figures before sending them to stores in 1982. These characters also appeared on the pages of Marvel Comics starting n the spring of 1983. Remco designed these action figures as translucent to appear to be made of crystal. Meanwhile, they designed Moltar and the forces of Chaos to appear to be made of lava. This series consisted of seven figures as well as 9 beasts, machines, and playsets.
