Their largest boom in popularity came when they began producing Mobile Suit Gundam model kits in the 1970s. The company also formed a subsidiary company, Popy, that specialized in creating licensed toys and founded the popular Chogokin toy line. Bandai has also become well-known for their ties with Super Sentai (Power Rangers), producing the props and then selling them as toys, along with Godzilla.
