In 1980, Schaper Toys introduced the world to their vision of four-wheel-drive toys, Stomper 4×4. Each of these vehicles required a single AA battery so that they could move on their own. There are several generations of Stompers toys, such as Generation 1 and 2. Later, Tyco bought Schaper and continued to create Stompers in 1987. Some of the most popular toys in this line were the Chevrolet K-10 Scottsdale, the Chevrolet Blazer, and the Ford Bronco. However, there were many more in the toy line.
