The 1996 Somersault Samurai Leo is a vintage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figure released by Playmates Toys as part of the Ninja Action subline. Leonardo features a built-in spring-loaded mechanism that allows him to perform a 360-degree backward somersault. By locking his legs, bending his waist, and pressing down on his head or back, Leo launches into the air and can land on his feet. This figure is identical to its earlier 1993 release, but with added Ninja Power brand packing,
The Somersault Samurai Leo includes two Criss-crossin’ Katana Blades, two Spiked Knuckles, and a Ninja Action Guide with instructions for activating his stunt feature. His samurai-themed design, spring-powered somersault action, and specialized accessories make this 1996 Playmates TMNT figure a distinctive vintage collectible.
