The 1996 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Head-Droppin' Mike is a late-era variant reissue from Playmates Toys’ Ninja Power assortment. The figure uses the same mold as the 1992 Head Droppin' Mike, including the molded pizza box party lid on his head. Squeezing his legs activates the spring mechanism to pop his head out of the shell, while pressing it down locks it back into place.

The figure includes the Wacky-Eyed Scope, Sewer-Lid Shield, and Plunger Nunchuku, retaining the unusual accessories from the earlier release. The 1996 version can be identified by its Ninja Power packaging, replacing the earlier cardback design. Its late-era release and short-lived Ninja Power assortment make it a notable vintage collectible for Playmates toy collectors and completionists.
