The 1996 Raphael’s Samurai Sewer Lair Playset was part of Playmates Toys’ Mini-Mutants “Turtle in a Turtle” line, released for the 10th anniversary of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This two-in-one TMNT toy combined a full-size 4-inch Raphael action figure with a hidden micro-scale playset. When closed, Raphael appears in cyber/samurai armor, while opening his head, front shell, and back shell reveals a multi-level Secret Sewer Headquarters.
The Raphael’s Samurai Sewer Lair Playset includes miniature Raphael and Michelangelo figures, a Kowabunga Kranial Kannon control room and launcher, and a pizza-disc launcher. Additional play features include an Escape Cable, Sewer Slide, Secret Sewer Access Door, and Ooze Cesspool, giving the 1996 Mini-Mutants toy multiple interactive features in a compact Turtle-shaped design.
