Rapid Recoilin’ Raphael is a vintage action figure released by Playmates Toys in 1996 as part of the Coil Force Turtles sub-line. Raphael has a noticeably muscular, bulked-up design and features Playmates’ spring-loaded “Kowa-Boinga Technology,” which allows his arms and legs to be pulled back and released for rapid punching and kicking action. The Coil Force Turtles series also included Coil Cool Donatello, Lickety Split Leonardo, and Mighty Mech Michaelangelo.
The Rapid Recoilin’ Raphael figure came with a Barraging Blade, Axe, and two Samurai Sais. Collectors may encounter two accessory-color variants, with blue or lilac accessories depending on the release. The figure’s card-back story describes bio-engineered coil-shaped viruses transforming Raphael into a spring-powered fighter, adding a distinctive fictional origin to this 1996 vintage TMNT action figure.
