Freeway is a 1987 Transformers G1 Throttlebot who transforms into a Chevrolet Corvette. Like the other Throttlebots, Freeway features a pull-back motor that propels him forward in both car and robot modes, making his simple transformation and motorized action the defining features of this vintage Autobot toy. In Japan, he was released as Runway.
Freeway was also part of the 1987 Decoy promotion, with carded Throttlebots packaged with soft-rubber Autobot or Decepticon Decoy figures. In Japan, the Throttlebots were featured in a special promotional campaign that included one of six all-white Autobot Master Warrior figures with qualifying purchases. These rare promotional figures have become highly valued among vintage Transformers collectors.
