Centurions Hornet Land Assault Weapon System (1986)

Hornet is an Assault Weapon System for Jake Rockwell in the Centurions toy line. Designed for aerial combat, it features a helicopter backpack with spinning rotor blades, an enclosed cockpit canopy, dual Sonic Thrusters, landing skids, and an arsenal that includes a nose-mounted laser gun, rotating freeze ray cannon, Sidewinder missiles, and targeting sensors. Hornet is notable for being the only independently flying Assault Weapon System assigned to a Centurion other than Ace McCloud, making it one of the line's most distinctive vehicle-style accessories.

The toy features a motorized rotor activated by a button on the backpack, while turning the chest connection rotates the Freeze Ray Cannon through an internal gear mechanism. Unlike most Centurions equipment, Hornet's backpack is not compatible with the standard Power Pack. In the animated series, Hornet was also used by Max Ray in select episodes, adding to its appeal among collectors and fans of the franchise.
