The 1991 Shell Top 4x4 is a vintage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles monster truck vehicle released by Playmates Toys. Billed as the “Hi-Ridin’, Car-Crushin’ Mutant Machine,” this push-powered 4x4 features a blue turtle-shell body, oversized mutant-tread tires, rotating shell turret, red ooze shooter, turtle terror-teeth bumper, and bug-eyed headlights.
The Shell Top 4x4 includes an open cockpit with a Turtle T.V. console, radar screen exhaust, and detachable netted doors, along with a rear running board and “4 GETIT” license plate. Designed for standard 5-inch TMNT figures, this 1991 Playmates vehicle is a distinctive vintage collectible from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy line.
