The 1991 Storage Shell Michelangelo is a classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figure released by Playmates Toys as part of the original Storage Shell Turtles line. Michelangelo features a hinged back shell that opens into an internal storage compartment, along with an orange mask and matching utility belt. The packaging lore humorously claims his shell can hold “Fourteen Turtle Tons or 500 Packed Pizzas.”
The Storage Shell Michelangelo includes two Nunchukus, Pipe Grappling Hook, Mini-Sickle, Snake Bow, Pizza Disc, two Ninja Throwing Stars, and a Turtle Flashlight. The shell provides internal storage for his gear, while the figure’s accessories and pizza-themed details reflect Michelangelo’s signature personality. This unique storage feature makes the 1991 Playmates TMNT figure a distinctive vintage collectible.
