The 1991 Storage Shell Raphael is a classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figure released by Playmates Toys as part of the original Storage Shell Turtles line. Known as the “Master of the Back Attack,” Raphael features a dark green body, bright red mask and utility belt, and an aggressive bared-teeth expression. His hinged back shell opens to reveal an internal storage compartment for his weapons.
The Storage Shell Raphael includes two Sais, Manta Axe, Blowfish Mace, Ninja-Rang, Pizza Disc, and two Ninja Throwing Stars. His Sais can be stored in the front belt loops, the throwing stars attach to exterior shell pegs, and the larger weapons fit inside the shell compartment. This unique two-part storage system and extensive accessory set make the 1991 Playmates TMNT figure a distinctive vintage collectible.
