Clash of the Titans Pegasus the Winged Horse (1980)

The 1980 Mattel Clash of the Titans Pegasus Winged Horse is a standout creature from the original toy line, designed to scale with the 3.75-inch action figures and recreate Perseus’s iconic flying companion from the film. The white Pegasus features detailed feathered wings, a molded mane and tail, and a saddle sized for the Perseus action figure.

Its signature feature is a classic 1980s action gimmick: squeezing Pegasus’s hind legs activates an internal mechanism that makes the wings flap up and down. Mattel released Pegasus both as a standalone boxed figure and in a larger Perseus and Pegasus gift set, making the toy available in multiple collectible configurations.

Today, the vintage 1980 Mattel Pegasus is highly desirable, particularly in bright white condition. A common collector issue is yellowing or discoloration of the white plastic caused by age and environmental exposure. Examples retaining their original clean white appearance, especially complete or unopened versions, are especially sought after.
