Rock ’N Roll Michaelangelo is a vintage TMNT action figure released by Playmates Toys in 1989 as part of the popular Wacky Action Turtles sub-line. Michelangelo features a “Twistin’ and Shoutin’” wind-up mechanism built into his back that activates a twisting motion in his right wrist, allowing him to rapidly spin his specialized weapons. This mechanical action feature gives the figure the distinctive play value associated with the original Wacky Action Turtles.
The 1989 Rock ’N Roll Michaelangelo vintage TMNT figure came with several unusual accessories designed around his spinning wrist action, including Sewer Snakes, a Swiss-Army Sewer Cover, Turtle Can Opener, Nunchukus (Sa Tjat Koen), and a Standard Table Fork. Its mechanical gimmick, unconventional pizza and household-themed accessories, and place in the early Wacky Action line make Rock ’N Roll Michaelangelo a notable collectible from the original vintage TMNT toyline.
