The 1989 Leatherhead is a vintage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figure released by Playmates Toys as part of the original TMNT basic figure line. Designed by Ryan Brown, the figure depicts the Cajun mutant alligator with a detailed swamp-themed appearance inspired in part by Ezekiel Tork from Marvel Comics' Man-Thing.
A complete 1989 Leatherhead TMNT figure includes three swamp-themed accessories: a Turtle Trap, Swamp Gun, and removable Jumbo Gumbo Belt with molded survival gear. With its distinctive alligator design and classic accessories, Leatherhead is an important vintage collectible from the original Playmates Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy line.
