The 1988 Splinter is a vintage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figure released by Playmates Toys in the first wave of the original TMNT toy line. Known as “The Good Guy Leader,” this classic version of Splinter features the mutant rat sensei in his traditional cloth cloak and belt, with a simple sculpt based on his early TMNT character design.
The 1988 Splinter includes a Sword Cane with Sheath, Ninja Bow, two Ninja Stars, Cloth Cloak and Belt, and a Plastic Weapons Rack. Early figures can be found with white or black eye paint variations, while the original brownish-gray Sword Cane mold was later reused in bright orange for the 1992 Mutatin’ Splinter Sword Cane variant. Its classic design and original accessories make this 1988 Playmates TMNT figure a distinctive vintage collectible.
