Wheeled Warriors Beast Walker (1985)

The 1985 Mattel Beast Walker is the heavy motorized flagship vehicle of the villainous Monster Minds faction in Wheeled Warriors. Classified as a “Combat Creature,” it serves as the monstrous counterpart to the heroic Trail Blazer. Instead of conventional wheels, the Beast Walker uses four large mechanical legs powered by two C-cell batteries, allowing it to stomp and walk forward when activated.

The Beast Walker shares its basic motorized walking chassis and internal mechanism with the Trail Blazer, but its distinctive organic egg-shaped black head gives it a unique Monster Minds appearance. The head features orange eyes, a tooth-filled mouth, and an exposed Brain Chamber for its pilot. Its modular design also includes a spring-action green Capture Claw for grabbing vehicles and a rear loading ramp that allows it to transport smaller Monster Minds vehicles.

Accessories include the Monster Monitor, League Tracker radar dish, four modular weapons—the Beast Bazooka Gun, Flare Terror Gun, Dual Shooter Gun, and Beast Laser Gun—and a small pink/purple Monster Mind Brain for the cockpit. With its motorized walking action, monstrous design, extensive weapons, and premium size, the Beast Walker is one of the most distinctive and collectible vehicles in the 1985 Mattel Wheeled Warriors line.
