Dreadwind is a 1988 G1 Powermaster that transforms into a General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon-style jet. The toy uses the Powermaster gimmick, requiring the Decepticon engine Hi-Test to unlock the transformation to robot mode. Dreadwind comes with two non-firing thermal melters that can be used individually or combined into a larger double-barreled weapon.
For collectors, Dreadwind is especially notable as one half of the Dreadwing super-jet, combining with Darkwing. The original G1 Dreadwind mold was also reused for the Japanese Super-God Masterforce character Buster, making this 1988 Powermaster an interesting piece for collectors of both vintage Transformers and Japanese G1 releases.
