The 1989 Transformers G1 Doubleheader is a distinctive Pretender figure featuring an inner robot that transforms into a Cybertronian twin-cockpit jet. His larger Pretender shell carries the acid pellet pistol, while the inner robot uses the smaller rust-ray gun. The jet's red wing section also converts into a jetpack for the Pretender shell, adding to the toy's unique display options.
For collectors, Doubleheader stands out for its unusual two-headed Pretender shell, removable double helmet, dual weapons, and backpack/wing assembly. Like other 1989 G1 Pretenders, the larger weapon can be stored inside the shell, making the figure especially interesting for collectors seeking complete examples with all accessories. Doubleheader was not released in Japan, making the original Hasbro version the primary G1 release.
