Transformers Generation 1 Apeface with Spasma (1987)

The 1987 Transformers G1 Apeface with Spasma is a Decepticon Headmaster Horrorcon and triple changer that transforms into a Cybertronic jet and robotic gorilla. His Headmaster partner, Spasma, fits inside the jet cockpit and transforms into Apeface’s robot and gorilla faces. Apeface’s gorilla mode has notable articulation for a Generation 1 beast figure, while the curved fists can hook onto objects for hanging poses.

In robot mode, Apeface features the classic Headmaster Tech Spec meter, which activates when Spasma is inserted into the neck socket and displays Speed, Strength, and Intelligence ratings. His jet stabilizers detach to become an Electro-shield, while the figure also includes the Sonic Boomer Gun. With its unusual triple-changing design, Headmaster gimmick, and distinctive gorilla mode, G1 Apeface remains a standout 1987 Transformers collectible.
