The 1987 Transformers G1 Cyclonus Targetmaster is an upgraded version of the classic Decepticon jet, redesigned to work with his Nebulan partner, Nightstick. Cyclonus retains his distinctive purple Cybertronian fighter design but features widened fist holes so he can hold Nightstick, who replaces the original handgun. A new 5mm mounting point was also added to the top of the jet mode for weapon storage.

For Transformers G1 collectors, this Cyclonus Targetmaster release is a notable variant because of its added Nightstick compatibility and subtle tooling changes. Like the original version, this release lacks the earlier blue paint, and it was not released in Japan, making the 1987 Targetmaster Cyclonus an important variation for collectors documenting the different G1 releases.
